With this integration, developers utilizing Codex can swiftly transition from idea to revenue. By activating Razorpay’s MCP Server within Codex, they can guide the AI to generate an app and automatically configure payment collection through Razorpay, eliminating the need for manual payment setup.
For instance, a developer might prompt Codex with: “Create an AI-driven fitness coaching app and assist me in collecting payments via Razorpay.” Codex will produce the app and automatically set up Razorpay’s payment gateway to manage transactions and checkout processes.
Aside from Codex, Razorpay is also integrating payment management into ChatGPT. Businesses can access the Razorpay app from ChatGPT’s app directory, using conversational prompts to handle payments, such as reconciling transactions with bank statements, monitoring refunds, or verifying settlements.

Oliver Jay, Managing Director, International at OpenAI, highlighted that the adoption of Codex in India has surged, with weekly users quadrupling in February alone. He added that incorporating Razorpay within Codex allows developers to progress from concept to revenue seamlessly.
This launch is part of Razorpay’s wider strategy to facilitate AI-driven commerce. The company has collaborated with OpenAI and the National Payments Corporation of India to introduce agentic payments, enabling AI systems to securely initiate and execute financial transactions on behalf of users.
