Speaking at a rally in Haldia, located in Purba Medinipur district, Modi accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s government of regressing the state and labeled it a “Nirmam (cruel) sarkar”.
“While the entire nation is advancing, the TMC’s Nirmam Sarkar is systematically holding Bengal back. To create a Viksit Bengal, we must eliminate the TMC’s ‘Nirmam Sarkar’,” Modi stated, according to the news agency PTI.
The Prime Minister emphasized that a foundation of trust is vital for economic advancement, noting that businesses and investors would only emerge when fear is replaced with stability.
“Investments cannot flow in under a cloud of fear. They arise only when trust prevails, which the BJP will reinstate in Bengal once it forms the government here,” Modi asserted.

Focusing on the party’s developmental objectives, he pledged to bolster the fisheries and seafood industry in the state. Modi pointed out that the central government established a dedicated ministry for fisherfolk welfare and allocated a historic budget for this sector.
Modi outlines six guarantees
During his speech, Modi elaborated on what he called “six Modi guarantees.” These guarantees involved replacing the TMC’s “reign of fear” with a trustworthy environment and ensuring public officials are held accountable.
“The BJP will investigate all files related to corruption and crimes against women in Bengal that the TMC has concealed,” he declared.
“All leaders implicated in corruption will face imprisonment; no TMC goons will evade the law,” he added.
The Prime Minister also assured that the benefits of government initiatives would reach all deserving citizens, while cautioning that “infiltrators will not be permitted to remain in this country.”

“Once the BJP government is in place, we will swiftly enact the 7th Pay Commission in Bengal for state employees, teachers, and individuals in related fields,” Modi noted.
Modi targets ruling TMC
Modi’s rally was held in the political territory of Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari. Highlighting the BJP’s success in the 2021 Assembly elections in Purba Medinipur, where the party captured 15 of the 16 seats, he indicated that the district is setting an example for all of Bengal.
“The outcome from Nandigram last time will be mirrored in Bhabanipur this time,” he asserted.
Adhikari defeated Banerjee in the Nandigram constituency in 2021 and is now challenging her in Bhabanipur.
The Prime Minister further accused the ruling party of harming the state’s industrial foundation and deceiving the youth by “destroying the private sector and exploiting government positions for financial gain.” He criticized what he referred to as religion-based reservation policies.

“Even after a century, the TMC will not cleanse itself of the wrongs it has done to Bengal’s youth,” Modi remarked.
Weather delay and rally turnout
Modi arrived nearly two hours late to the rally due to overnight rain in southern parts of the state. Despite the weather challenges, he expressed gratitude to the large crowd for their presence.
“I thank everyone for coming out in such great numbers despite the poor weather. This signals a brewing storm. The people of Bengal are ready for a change in governance, indicating that the TMC’s departure from the state is inevitable,” he said.
Calling for collaboration between the Centre and the state, Modi reaffirmed the BJP’s principle of “Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas.”
“All those who have looted Bengal will face justice,” he declared.
