Ways for Mumbai Metro passengers to convert online shopping into travel savings.
Commuters using Mumbai Metro Line 1 can now cut down on their daily travel expenses by transforming their standard online shopping into savings for their commutes, thanks to a newly launched app-based rewards feature from Mumbai Metro One.

Through this system, users can earn cashback on purchases made from well-known e-commerce sites such as Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, and Ajio.

The reward is capped at ₹20 per transaction, with cashback credited immediately and available for direct transfer to the commuter’s bank account.
This feature, named “RapidCash,” was developed collaboratively with RapidCash, Acetech Digital, and SequelString AI Pvt Ltd. It aims to connect everyday digital spending with urban transport, allowing commuters to reduce part of their travel costs without altering their shopping routines.
As stated by Mumbai Metro One, the goal is to enhance affordability for regular riders by merging commerce and transportation into a unified digital ecosystem. The operator mentioned that this model enables users to keep utilizing current discounts on shopping platforms while also gaining added travel-related benefits, according to a report by Times of India.

Officials characterized this initiative as a groundbreaking offering within India’s metro ecosystem. They noted that it builds upon earlier commuter-centric features introduced over the years, which include WhatsApp ticketing, QR-based mobile tickets, Metro Rewards, and unlimited travel passes, the report indicated.

Mumbai Metro One, backed by Reliance Infrastructure, revealed it has served over 120 crore commuters thus far and consistently maintains a punctuality rate exceeding 99%.

The RapidCash feature is now accessible via its mobile app on both Android and iOS platforms.
