This acquisition will be executed via its South African subsidiary, The Beverages Company Proprietary Ltd., pending regulatory and other approvals, including clearances from the Competition Commissions of South Africa, Botswana, and Eswatini.
The deal is anticipated to be finalized by June 30, 2026, according to a statement made by the company in a regulatory filing.
Twizza specializes in producing and distributing its own branded non-alcoholic beverages. Following the transaction, Twizza will operate as a step-down subsidiary of Varun Beverages.
This acquisition is projected to enhance BevCo’s footprint in South Africa, where Twizza runs three manufacturing facilities situated in Cape Town, Queenstown, and Middelburg. All three plants are backward integrated, with a total capacity of five preform lines and one closure line.
For the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, Twizza reported a turnover of ₹901.9 crore. During FY25, the company recorded sales volumes of 71 million cases, with net revenue matching ₹901.9 crore.
On Friday, shares of Varun Beverages Ltd. closed 0.77% lower at ₹469.95. The stock has declined by 28% year-to-date in 2025.
