TVK Leader Vijay Unveils Support Initiatives for Farmers, MSMEs, and Tamil Nadu Police.
TVK leader Vijay on Tuesday pledged to waive crop loans for farmers in Tamil Nadu and criticized the DMK government for the purported closure of numerous Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the state.

While speaking at a rally here, he announced plans to release a detailed election manifesto ahead of the upcoming assembly elections on April 16.

Vijay guaranteed a complete waiver of crop loans for small farmers owning less than 5 acres, and a 50 percent waiver for those with more than 5 acres of agricultural land.
Additionally, the actor-turned-politician declared that farmers will receive Rs 3,500 per quintal for paddy and Rs 4,500 per ton for sugarcane.

Expressing concern over the decline in the industrial sector, Vijay noted that while Tamil Nadu used to have a larger number of MSMEs, many have closed during the DMK administration, which ranks second highest in the country.

“This is the glory of the DMK,” he commented ironically.

Vowing to allocate Rs 15,000 crore as a state guarantee fund for weaker MSMEs, he announced that peak hour electricity charges for these enterprises would be abolished, along with offering tax-free electricity for a duration of five years.

Revealing a range of welfare initiatives, Vijay said a state-run e-commerce platform would be created to promote their products in international markets, in addition to establishing new showrooms for them.

He mentioned that a 50 percent subsidy scheme would be introduced for weavers purchasing raw materials. “The pension for weavers will be increased to Rs 3,000,” he added, explaining that they would also receive an insurance policy worth Rs 10 lakh each.

On the topic of state government employees, he expressed that the revival of the old pension scheme would be considered.

“Temporary government teachers, nurses, and writers who have worked for more than five years will be regularized,” he emphasized and assured that the “bribery culture” connected with employee promotions would be completely eradicated.

He further stated that all transfers of government staff would occur in a transparent and timely manner.

For the police force, Vijay mentioned that the basic salary would rise from Rs 18,200 to Rs 25,000, along with the implementation of the Police Welfare and Working Conditions Act, which would regulate working hours for personnel.

“Washing allowance will also increase from Rs 500 to Rs 1,000,” he said.

Police welfare hospitals will be established in Madurai, Coimbatore, Trichy, Salem, Tirunelveli, and Vellore, and provisions for separate restrooms for female personnel and mobile toilets will be made. “A rotation-based weekly off will be implemented for police personnel who exceed the designated working hours,” he added.
