Several unexpected developments occurred overnight in efforts to resolve the West Asia conflict. As Iran remains steadfast in its peace deal demands, President Donald Trump stated he “couldn’t care less” about the potential collapse of negotiations. He also reportedly expressed frustration at Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu for escalating attacks on Lebanon, complicating discussions with Tehran.

Publicly, the U.S. President revealed he had conversations with both Netanyahu and Hezbollah, declaring that the fighting would stop in Lebanon. “…there will be no troops going to Beirut, and any troops that have been deployed are already being recalled,” he stated.

In a private interview with CNBC, Trump dismissed worries about the recent increase in crude oil prices, asserting that Americans would likely accept higher gas prices if it meant curtailing Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

This announcement followed Iran’s assertion that it would suspend communication with the U.S. in reaction to Israel’s actions in Lebanon.

Nonetheless, Trump maintained that talks with the Islamic Republic were proceeding at a “rapid pace”.

According to Axios, Trump privately criticized the Israeli leader after Israel escalated its military actions in Lebanon, allegedly telling Netanyahu that those actions were jeopardizing international support for the nation.

“You’re f****** crazy. You’d be in prison if it weren’t for me. I’m saving your ass. Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this,” Trump reportedly told Netanyahu.
