Thursday's World Cup matches to have messaging denouncing hate speech
The eight teams scheduled to play in World Cup matches on Thursday will participate in an International Day for Countering Hate Speech commemoration, which includes a pre-match exchange of pennants opposing such speech.

Captains engaged in the Czechia-South Africa, Mexico-South Korea, Switzerland-Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Canada-Qatar matches will display pennants reading “We Play Together. We Stand Against Hate,” with the text presented in English on one side and in the teams’ native languages on the other.

According to FIFA, more than 30 million abusive posts and comments have been removed since the introduction of its social media protection service prior to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
FIFA also reports that nearly 400,000 negative or abusive posts were deleted within the first few days of this World Cup – exceeding the total for the entire 2022 event.

Additional stadium activations promoting that anti-hate message are planned during the matches on Thursday.
