On December 29, Russia reported that 91 long-range Ukrainian drones had attempted to target President Vladimir Putin’s residence in the Novgorod region, located north of Moscow.

In a broadcast statement, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov indicated that the drone assault during the night on Sunday failed to inflict any damage as all drones were downed. He also stated that Russia maintains the right to respond at a suitable time.

Lavrov characterized the Ukrainian actions as efforts to undermine peace discussions led by Kyiv and its allies.

President Trump expressed shock,” said Yury Ushakov, aide to the Kremlin on foreign policy, as reported by Russian news outlets.
