Rasikh Salam Dar achieved remarkable figures of four wickets for just 24 runs in his four overs, showcasing RCB’s dominant performance in this one-sided contest.
Mitchell Marsh aimed to give LSG a strong start with his 40 runs, but the team lost quick wickets, including Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran. Rishabh Pant endured a blow to his elbow from a delivery by Josh Hazlewood and had to retire hurt during the powerplay. Although he returned to bat in the 16th over, he managed only a single run before being dismissed.
Ayush Badoni and Mukul Choudhary made valuable contributions with scores of 38 and 39 respectively, adding some resilience to the LSG innings. However, seven out of the eleven batters failed to reach double digits.
RCB showcased a unified bowling effort, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar claiming three wickets, preventing LSG from building any significant momentum in their batting.
Krunal Pandya also excelled with his off-break deliveries, allowing just 38 runs in his four overs while helping RCB dismiss Mitchell Marsh and Abdul Samad.
Pant’s elbow injury could be a concern for LSG, which is already struggling with its batting due to the underwhelming performances of Nicholas Pooran. Last year, Marsh, Markram, and Pooran each scored over 400 runs, establishing them as a formidable batting lineup.
This season, they are struggling to find form, compounded by Pant’s lackluster performances.
