The central bank announced that the mission, which stands for Sahkari Bank Kshamta Nirman, will implement numerous training programs in both in-person and online formats, aiming at approximately 1.40 lakh participants across UCBs.
The initiative will encompass various stakeholder groups, such as board members, senior management, and key function heads in areas like risk, compliance, audit, and IT, as well as employees in other vital operational roles.
In the program’s design, the RBI intends to provide training materials in regional languages wherever possible, aiming to enhance accessibility and boost engagement across institutions. The mission has been formulated in collaboration with the umbrella organization for UCBs and national and state cooperative federations.
The RBI mentioned that this initiative is anticipated to enhance managerial and operational expertise within the sector while also bolstering compliance practices and institutional resilience. It further stated that Mission SAKSHAM aspires to establish a continuous learning ecosystem for UCBs, contributing to long-term stability and sustainable growth in the sector.
The launch is part of the RBI’s wider initiatives to improve regulatory and supervisory support for urban cooperative banks.
