Rathour named batting coach for Sri Lanka ahead of T20 World Cup.

Vikram Rathour has been appointed as the batting coach for Sri Lanka in the upcoming T20 World Cup, which kicks off on February 7. He also has a history as an India international, having played in six Tests and seven ODIs.

On Thursday, it was announced that Vikram Rathour will join the Sri Lankan team as batting coach for the forthcoming T20 World Cup, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

“Sri Lanka Cricket is pleased to announce the appointment of Vikram Rathour as the Batting Coach for the National Team.

“This is a consultancy role aimed at enhancing the team’s preparation for the ICC Men’s T20I World Cup 2026,” Sri Lanka Cricket shared in their announcement.
Rathour will officially start on January 18 and stay with the team until March 10. His previous experience includes representing India in six Tests and seven ODIs.

The 56-year-old was India’s batting coach from September 2019 to July 2024 and is certified as a BCCI Level 3 coach. He is currently part of the Rajasthan Royals’ support staff in the IPL.
