The Prime Minister emphasized the necessity of strong team-building within Ministries and Departments, urging officers to collaborate with a unified sense of purpose. He highlighted the importance of dismantling both horizontal and vertical silos within the Government to ensure seamless coordination among departments and achieve integrated results.
Focusing on citizen-centric governance, the Prime Minister noted that while substantial investments are being made in infrastructure, equal emphasis should be placed on developing indigenous technologies.
He underlined the significance of technological self-reliance and the establishment of domestic capabilities in essential sectors.
Pointing out that energy security is intricately connected to national security, economic stability, and the welfare of citizens, the Prime Minister advocated for self-sufficiency in the energy sector through innovation, diversification, and rapid capacity development.
He stressed the necessity to reform processes, enhance work culture, and boost institutional efficiency, mentioning that the increasing use of technology must go hand in hand with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity to protect digital systems and infrastructure. He called for ongoing vigilance against emerging cyber threats.
Additionally, he sought greater involvement from young innovators and entrepreneurs in the cybersecurity ecosystem, highlighting the need for proactive communication on strategic sectors to combat misinformation and unfounded fears related to these efforts.
The Prime Minister stated that new academic programs should be developed in collaboration with the industry to equip the workforce with the skills demanded by emerging and future sectors.
The meeting included comprehensive discussions by Secretaries regarding progress, priorities, and implementation challenges within their respective areas.
In attendance were the Cabinet Secretary, Secretaries of key Ministries and Departments, along with senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Office.
