Pezeshkian has provided varying accounts in recent weeks regarding his access to Khamenei, who has not been publicly seen since taking over from his father in March.
On July 21, the president mentioned that interactions with the supreme leader were “increasing day by day,” but later in early August stated that communicating with Khamenei was “very difficult.”
The late July meeting addressed military matters and economic issues, including resource acquisition, foreign exchange management, and energy consumption, as well as economic partnerships with foreign entities, according to state media.
In May, state media also indicated that Pezeshkian had spent several hours with Khamenei, marking their first publicly reported meeting since Khamenei became supreme leader.
Khamenei was reportedly seriously injured in the February 28 strike that resulted in the death of his father and predecessor, Ali Khamenei, on the first day of the U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran. He had generally maintained a low public profile prior to becoming supreme leader.
Deputy of the Basij Organisation, Qasem Qoraishi, stated on Sunday that footage and other evidence showing Khamenei in public settings and engaging with military commanders would be released in the future.Also Read: Iran says Oman deal is in ‘final stages’ but US must act to open Hormuz
Qoraishi asserted that the footage would “once again bring disgrace upon the adversaries and detractors of the Iranian people.” His remarks seemed aimed at countering speculation concerning Khamenei’s health and infrequent public appearances.
