Paras Defence identifies significant growth potential in the drone and space sectors.
Based in Navi Mumbai, Paras Defence & Space Technologies, an aerospace and defense firm, is anticipating significant long-term growth as India boosts its investments in space surveillance and next-gen defense technologies. The company aims to capitalize on the increasing demand for optical payloads, counter-drone systems, and sophisticated defense solutions.

Amit Mahajan, Director-Technical & R&D at Paras Defence, mentioned that the company expects to play a pivotal role in forthcoming space initiatives following the Defence Acquisition Council’s sanctioning of projects amounting to ₹52,000 crore.

He stated, “This trend appears to be a recurring one, and it’s challenging to assign a finite figure to it. Our requirements and needs for space situational awareness are compounding weekly, and no matter what we do currently, a substantial opportunity remains ahead.”

The stock was trading at ₹1,260.30 at 11:42 am on the NSE and has witnessed over a 50% increase in the past year.

Regarding the anti-drone sector, Mahajan indicated that the battlefield is evolving rapidly, making agile technologies like interceptor drones vital. The company has broadened its product offerings from soft-kill systems to laser-based anti-drone solutions, and is now incorporating interceptor drone technology via a licensing deal with Tandem Defense.

Recently, Paras Defence entered into an intellectual property (IP) licensing agreement with Georgia-based Tandem Defense LLC for the manufacturing and commercialization of the Guardian-1 Drone Interceptor system in India.

The Guardian-1 is a high-speed, battery-operated counter-drone solution aimed at neutralizing low-cost aerial threats. Under the agreement, Paras Defence has received exclusive rights to utilize the licensed IP in India for manufacturing and commercialization, valid for 12 months.

Mahajan emphasized that Paras Defence is tailoring its technology portfolio to stay relevant as warfare transitions from large platforms like tanks and ships to drone-oriented operations. The company expects a steady increase in the contribution of counter-drone technologies over time.

He mentioned that Paras Defence will continue to focus primarily on in-house research and development while being receptive to technology licensing and strategic partnerships that can expedite development timelines.

Nevertheless, he dismissed the idea of pursuing inorganic growth, stating that the company is content with the emerging opportunities within the domestic defense ecosystem.

The current market capitalization of Paras Defence & Space Technologies stands at ₹10,164.48 crore.
