Opposition Legislators Demonstrate in Parliament Against Alleged 'Theft' of Donations for Ram Temple
Opposition MPs, including Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, gathered for a protest in the Parliament House complex on Monday regarding the alleged misappropriation of donations for the Ram temple in Ayodhya and the “excessive force” used against student demonstrators.

They insisted that Home Minister Amit Shah should address Parliament to discuss the purported police violence during the student protests on July 20 related to the paper leak issue.

Brandishing placards denouncing the government, the MPs protested outside the Makar Dwar of Parliament, chanting slogans such as ‘chhanda chor, gaddi chor,’ ‘Amit Shah jawaab do’ and ‘chanda chor kahan milenge, BJP ke daftar mein’.

The MPs also set up a donation box at the site to represent the alleged misappropriation of donations to the Ram temple and encircled it to vocalize their opposition to the government.

The dissenting MPs, primarily from the Congress and the Samajwadi Party, gathered behind a prominent banner that proclaimed ‘Amit Shah jawaab do’ while chanting against the Home Minister.

The INDIA bloc has committed to holding the government accountable regarding the suspected donation theft at the Ram temple and the “brutal force” exercised against students during their recent protests.

Earlier that day, the floor leaders of the INDIA bloc convened in the chamber of Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, and pledged to confront the government on the issues of “chhanda chori” and “police excesses” against the students. Both Houses of Parliament have been at a standstill due to the Opposition’s demands, with most legislative business occurring amid considerable disruption.
