Nvidia's latest N1X laptop processors capture attention as Microsoft and Arm join the excitement.
Nvidia is gearing up to make its entry into the laptop chip industry with its own Arm-based laptop processors. As Computex 2026 approaches, set for June 2-5 in Taipei, Taiwan, Nvidia, Microsoft, and Arm have hinted at an upcoming announcement on social media.

On Friday, May 29, official X accounts for Nvidia GeForce and Windows shared identical messages reading, “A new era of PC. 25.0528, 121.5990.” Shortly after, Arm’s X account posted the same update.

Each of these posts included the coordinates for the Taipei Music Centre in Nangang, Taipei, the venue for the event. Nvidia is set to deliver a keynote at Computex on Sunday night (May 31) at 8 pm PT / 11 pm ET (11:30 am June 1 IST). Speculation suggests that the company might reveal its highly anticipated Arm-based laptop chips during this event. It’s expected that Nvidia will introduce two new processors named N1 and N1X, designed to support a new era of AI-centric Windows laptops.

There have been ongoing discussions about Nvidia developing laptop processors for quite a while. Earlier this year, reports indicated that Lenovo and Dell were working on new laptops equipped with N1X chips. The company’s intentions first became public in 2023, and in 2024, Dell CEO Michael Dell hinted at Nvidia’s potential involvement in future AI-powered personal computers.

What are N1 and N1X chips?

The N1 and N1X are forthcoming laptop processors from Nvidia, anticipated to integrate a robust CPU and GPU into a single chip, built on Arm architecture.

The more advanced N1X chip is rumored to feature approximately 20 CPU cores and utilize Nvidia’s latest Blackwell architecture for its graphics. Significant PC manufacturers such as Dell, Lenovo, and ASUS are reportedly preparing laptops powered by these new chips, expected to hit the market by late 2026.
