MakeMyTrip announced it has incorporated OpenAI’s APIs into its app, which powers innovative AI features that allow travelers to transition seamlessly from conversational inspiration to booking within its Myra interface. The company aims to bolster AI-driven travel discovery by presenting structured, transaction-ready options for flights, hotels, and ancillary services.
MakeMyTrip’s GenAI Trip Planning Assistant, Myra, engages in more than 50,000 conversations daily across various languages like Bengali, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and English, with over 45% of inquiries originating from Tier-2 and smaller cities.
Ixigo has also expanded its partnership with OpenAI to enhance the deployment of artificial intelligence across its platforms and internal processes.
The travel tech firm stated that this collaboration will broaden AI capabilities across its group brands, including ConfirmTkt and AbhiBus, aiming to scale AI integration in both consumer-facing products and enterprise systems.
As part of this partnership, Ixigo will utilize OpenAI’s Enterprise API to integrate advanced AI tools and next-generation coding models into its tech ecosystem. This will enable autonomous workflows and support applications like automated agents, AI-assisted processes, contextual assistants, and deeper research into AI-led travel solutions.
Ixigo noted that it has already integrated AI into various business functions. Approximately 90% of its voice and chat-based customer support is automated, and AI tools are leveraged in software development, marketing, operations, and other areas.
In 2025, the company initiated “Project Trishul,” a three-pronged AI roadmap focused on enhancing efficiency, driving revenue, and facilitating technology-led disruption. This initiative aims to boost monetization, improve operational leverage, and develop multimodal agentic capabilities across its ecosystem. Ixigo anticipates that the OpenAI collaboration will fast-track AI-driven coding, quality assurance, and the establishment of autonomous workflows throughout the organization.
Regarding the partnership, Aloke Bajpai, Group CEO of Ixigo, shared in a post on X that the company is collaborating with OpenAI to expedite deep AI integration across Ixigo, ConfirmTkt, and AbhiBus, deploying agentic AI within the organization and for over half a billion travel users to transform its travel technology stack.
