The Karnataka State Cricket Association has voiced its disappointment over the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium not being chosen as the venue for the IPL final. In a statement, KSCA president Venkatesh Prasad, a former Indian pace legend, mentioned his direct communication with the Board of Control for Cricket in India, where he expressed the association’s readiness, enthusiasm, and keen interest in hosting the IPL playoffs in Bengaluru.
Additionally, the association provided the BCCI with a comprehensive communication, detailing its operational capabilities and outlining the successful framework utilized for hosting matches in the city during the current season.
Although they were not selected, KSCA emphasized its respect for the BCCI’s decision-making authority. They highlighted that the protocols and arrangements in Bengaluru have been consistent since the IPL’s inception in 2008 and were applied uniformly this season, including during previous playoff matches held at the venue.
