KKR's Angkrish Raghuvanshi penalized for field obstruction following unusual IPL incident against LSG
In an unusual and intense moment during the Indian Premier League match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday, wicketkeeper-batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi was ruled out for obstructing the field.

Raghuvanshi, clearly dissatisfied with the call, tried to plead his case with the on-field umpires but ultimately had to accept the decision.

The incident took place on the last delivery of the fifth over bowled by Prince Yadav, when Raghuvanshi tapped the ball toward mid-on and initially ran for a single. However, after a few steps, he was signaled to return by Cameron Green, resulting in the contentious dismissal.

As he turned back, Raghuvanshi inadvertently entered the ‘danger zone’ on the pitch, and the throw from Mohammed Shami struck his body as he attempted to dive back into the crease.

The third umpire Rohit Pandit upheld the appeal from Shami and LSG for Raghuvanshi obstructing the field, declaring him out, which left KKR in a tough spot at 27 for three after five overs.

KKR’s head coach Abhishek Nayar was observed disputing with the fourth umpire near the team dugout, while Raghuvanshi angrily threw down his helmet.
