On Monday, January 19, India and the United Arab Emirates established a range of agreements and identified new cooperative areas during the visit of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as reported by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri in a media briefing.
The two nations signed a letter of intent focused on collaboration in space infrastructure and joint missions, alongside another letter of intent for the UAE’s involvement in developing a special investment zone in Dholera, Gujarat.
Additionally, India and the UAE reached a long-term agreement for the annual supply of 0.5 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas, with the UAE standing as India’s second-largest LNG supplier.
An agreement concerning food safety was also established to promote food and agricultural exports from India. Both nations agreed to investigate collaboration in advanced nuclear technologies, including significant and small nuclear reactors.

The UAE will explore investment opportunities to enhance data center capacities in India, and both parties will consider the establishment of a data embassy based on mutually recognized sovereignty agreements.

India and the UAE also committed to working towards doubling their bilateral trade from $100 billion to $200 billion by 2032.
