This advisory precedes the start of the Parliament session on July 20, during which heightened security measures have been implemented across the national capital.
The police indicated that prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), previously known as Section 144 of the CrPC, are currently being enforced in the New Delhi district.
These orders strictly forbid protest marches, processions, demonstrations, and gatherings of five or more individuals, except at the designated protest location at Jantar Mantar and only with prior approval.
“No permission has been sought or granted for any such protest march/procession,” the advisory noted.
According to Delhi Police, these restrictions are intended to safeguard public safety, ensure the security of protectees, and protect crucial government facilities during the Parliament session.
The police cautioned that individuals violating these prohibitory orders could face prosecution under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and other applicable legal provisions.
The advisory urged citizens to adhere to the law, avoid participating in any unauthorized gatherings or marches, and assist in maintaining public peace, safety, and security.
This advisory was prompted by reports of a proposed march to Parliament by CJP on Monday.
