“With about 950 million voters, India is the world’s largest democracy… the Election Commission upholds an unmatched level of transparency in the creation of electoral rolls,” he remarked.
He encouraged the public to download the ECI Net mobile app, which offers access to Election Commission details and electoral data dating back to 1951.
Regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, Kumar noted that the process has been completed for approximately 700 million voters, while verification for another 350 million voters is currently in progress.
Kumar added that prior to the final electoral roll being published, government officials validate the records, and recognized political parties are permitted to audit the lists.
