Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to Appoint 12 New Ministers to Cabinet on June 5

Assam Government Formation: BJP Legislative Party to Convene Today to Finalize New Cabinet
Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, declared on Thursday that 12 members of the Assam Legislative Assembly are set to be sworn in as Cabinet ministers on June 5.

In a message posted on X, Sarma detailed that the swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for 12:45 PM.

“I am delighted to announce that the following Hon’ble Members of the Assam Legislative Assembly will take the oath as Cabinet Ministers in the Government of Assam on June 5, 2026, at 12:45 PM,” Sarma stated in his post.

The expansion of the Assam Cabinet will see the addition of these 12 ministers.

Earlier, on May 12, Himanta Biswa Sarma took the oath for a second consecutive term as Chief Minister of Assam, following a decisive win for the BJP-led NDA in the 2026 Assam Assembly elections.

Additionally, four leaders were sworn in as ministers alongside Sarma, including Rameswar Teli, Ajanta Neog, Atul Bora, and Charan Boro.
