Anthropic appoints Microsoft executive Irina Ghosh as Managing Director.

Anthropic, an artificial intelligence startup, has named former Microsoft executive Irina Ghosh as its Managing Director, marking the company’s expansion with its first office in India, as the nation grows into a key testing ground for leading AI platforms.

Based in San Francisco, Anthropic is the organization behind Claude.ai, which boasts the second-largest user base in India.

With nearly three decades of experience in scaling tech operations, Ghosh will play a crucial role in ensuring that Anthropic’s strategy in India is “grounded in local insight.”

Previously, she served as the Managing Director at Microsoft India, spearheading enterprise AI integration across various sectors, including banking, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, and government.
