Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, has accepted an invitation from the United States to become a member of the Board of Peace, according to a statement from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This acceptance was confirmed by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed indicated that the UAE’s choice underscores the significance of fully realizing US President Donald J. Trump’s 20-point peace plan for Gaza, which he deemed essential for achieving the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

He further emphasized the UAE’s trust in President Trump’s leadership and his dedication to global peace, as evidenced by the Abraham Accords.
The statement highlighted that the UAE is eager to actively engage in the Board of Peace’s mission, promoting enhanced cooperation, stability, and prosperity for all.

Importantly, US President Donald Trump aims to officially establish the proposed Gaza ‘Board of Peace’ on Thursday, January 22, during the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
While the White House plans to finalize the complete constitution and objectives of the committee this week, some stakeholders are seeking to revise the terms in collaboration with European allies on a unified response, as reported by Bloomberg.
French President Emmanuel Macron has indicated he will not partake in the board. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is open to joining “in-principle” but is not prepared to finance a permanent membership.
