Who holds the key to Manchester United's future? Amorim has the insight.
Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo has yet to start a Premier League match this season, but manager Ruben Amorim is already praising him as the club’s future.

Mainoo will likely miss the upcoming match against Newcastle United due to a calf injury. He has featured in 12 games this season, and Amorim mentioned that the young player will need to practice patience to find his opportunity in the lineup.

“Kobbie Mainoo will have his chance; he has plenty of time,” Amorim stated to reporters on Thursday.
“He has played in various positions, and regarding Casemiro’s role, he can fill that position.

“If we play with three in midfield, he can assume – as we did in the last match – the role of Mason Mount for that game, he can fit in there.

“Thus, in the future, he is going to be a significant part of Manchester United. That’s my belief.

“You just need to wait for your moment, as circumstances can shift in football within two days.”

With several players sidelined due to injury and the Africa Cup of Nations approaching, Amorim expressed that it would be challenging to accommodate any player’s request to leave in January.

“It would be tough for someone to exit the club if we don’t secure a replacement,” the Portuguese manager remarked.

“We are low on numbers. Even with a full squad, we are lacking for potential scenarios that may arise.”

Currently, Manchester United sits seventh in the league with 26 points from 17 matches.
