The newly constructed airport, promoted by the Adani Group, will commence commercial operations starting Thursday.
The drones executed a flawless display, forming stunning aerial shapes such as 3D lotus flowers, lotus-patterned interiors, the airport logo, a green airport concept, a plane soaring over Mumbai, and symbols of India’s growth, all reflecting the airport’s theme, NMIA stated in a press release.
The evening combined innovation with artistry, turning the night sky into a memorable visual experience, it added.

As the second airport in the Mumbai Metropolitan region, following the Mumbai International Airport, this new facility is poised to become one of the busiest and a key aviation hub in India.
Covering over 1,160 hectares (2,866 acres), once completed, NMIA will be built to accommodate 90 million passengers per year (MPPA). The airport will include two parallel runways, terminal buildings, and state-of-the-art cargo facilities, ensuring a smooth passenger experience and effective cargo management, it noted.
In its initial phase, NMIA will be able to handle 20 million passengers annually and 0.5 million metric tonnes of cargo each year.
