Jony Ive deal removed from OpenAI website over trademark suit
Materials and videos showcasing the significant collaboration between former Apple designer Jony Ive and OpenAI were taken offline due to a trademark conflict.

Users noticed the absence of the video and website from OpenAI that proclaimed the artificial intelligence firm’s acquisition of Ive’s elusive AI hardware business, IO Products, raising questions about potential issues with the agreement.

The materials made available to the public were retracted due to a trademark issue, as confirmed by representatives for both Ive and OpenAI. Bloomberg reported last week that a judge might restrict OpenAI’s use of the IO name following a lawsuit filed by IYO Inc., which also develops AI devices.
“This complaint has no merit, and we will defend against it vigorously,” a spokesperson for Ive stated on Sunday.
