Meta launches passkeys for Facebook login on mobile: Here’s how they function

What are passkeys?
Passkeys are digital identifiers that allow users to log in using their fingerprint, facial recognition, or device PIN—mirroring the method used to unlock their phones. Developed by the FIDO Alliance, this technology is designed to prevent phishing and password theft, offering a more secure alternative to conventional logins and one-time codes.
Unlike passwords, passkeys cannot be guessed or reused and are securely stored on your device. Therefore, Meta will not have access to your biometric data or PIN.

Referring to AI as the “new electricity” for Notion, Kothari noted that it transforms user interactions with the platform. With millions of users worldwide, the company has developed a robust editor and database infrastructure—enhanced further by AI for scalable customization.
