He criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claiming they are attempting to seize land like a mafia through the Waqf (Amendment) Bill.
During a press conference, Yadav asserted that the “PDA (Backward, Dalits, and Minorities) will expel the BJP” from the state in the upcoming assembly elections.
When questioned about the INDIA bloc, he reaffirmed, “The INDIA alliance exists now and will endure,” alleviating concerns regarding the alliance’s future ahead of the 2024 general elections.

“The BJP has introduced the Waqf Amendment Bill to seize land. They occupy land wherever they find it,” he remarked, labeling the BJP as the “land mafia party.” He accused the ruling party of “appropriating” public funds through demonetisation and GST, as well as undermining reservation rights.
Yadav also criticized the BJP’s management of the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, pledging an inquiry into “mismanagement” if his party assumes power. He contended that the government provided false statistics regarding casualties and monetary profits from the event, alleging that drone and CCTV surveillance was ineffective during the January stampede.
“When drones and CCTVs were most needed (during the stampede), they were either turned off or malfunctioning,” he asserted. Yadav accused the government of pressuring the families of stampede victims to alter the cause of death.

On SP MP Ramji Lal Suman’s controversial remarks regarding Rana Sanga, Yadav stated, “A history that portrays different groups as superior and inferior, obstructing our advancement, should be allowed to persist.”
Yadav shared with journalists a booklet of his recommendations for the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh 2025, which was originally shared on social media, alongside a Harvard University study on the 2013 Prayagraj Kumbh Mela. He was in Prayagraj to attend the wedding of SP state president Shyam Lal Pal’s daughter.
