A smaller fraction of users encountered problems with the OpenAI app (7%) and login difficulties (1%). Before this event, the service had been largely stable for the previous 24 hours.
Users on social media, particularly X (formerly Twitter), posted screenshots illustrating blank screens, server errors, loading problems, and unexpected logouts. Several users mentioned that they couldn’t access saved conversations or continue their ongoing sessions.
OpenAI acknowledged the intermittent service disruption and stated that efforts are underway to resolve the issue.
We are observing elevated error rates and latency across ChatGPT and the API.
Our engineers have identified the root cause and are working as fast as possible to fix the issue.
