ChatGPT Faces Worldwide Outage; Users in India and Beyond Report Service Interruptions
On June 10, 2025, OpenAI’s ChatGPT experienced a significant outage that impacted users in various regions, including India. Data from Downdetector revealed that reports of issues began around 2:45 PM IST, peaking shortly after 3 PM. During this time, over 1,100 reports were made, with 93% specifically related to ChatGPT.

A smaller fraction of users encountered problems with the OpenAI app (7%) and login difficulties (1%). Before this event, the service had been largely stable for the previous 24 hours.

Users on social media, particularly X (formerly Twitter), posted screenshots illustrating blank screens, server errors, loading problems, and unexpected logouts. Several users mentioned that they couldn’t access saved conversations or continue their ongoing sessions.
OpenAI acknowledged the intermittent service disruption and stated that efforts are underway to resolve the issue.

The outage seems to impact both free and paid ChatGPT users, including those who subscribe to the ChatGPT Plus plan.

Services affected include ChatGPT, the Sora video model, and OpenAI’s GPT API.
