Indian Travel Agents Offer Full Support to Revitalize Tourism in Jammu and Kashmir
The Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) expressed strong support for the tourism sector in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, highlighting the importance of standing by the Valley’s tourism industry during tough times. TAFI’s national president, Ajay Prakash, is currently leading a delegation visit to Kashmir to boost confidence among travelers and alleviate safety concerns.

“We have 12 chapters in India, and all chapter chairmen and committees are present. Our goal is to fully support tourism, which is vital for Kashmir as there’s no place like it,” Prakash stated at a press conference.

He emphasized that recent incidents, including the Pahalgam terror attack, have unsettled travelers but reiterated that the Valley is still safe and inviting. “The Pahalgam incident has caused fear, but we are here to convey a strong message. Through our chapters, clients, and agents nationwide, we will communicate that Kashmir is open, prepared to welcome visitors, and remains beautiful and secure,” he remarked.
“Visit Kashmir. This message will resonate throughout the country,” Prakash added.

TAFI’s leadership is also collaborating with airlines and hotels to keep travel to Kashmir both accessible and affordable. “Kashmir was thriving until recently, and to regain that status, support from airlines, hoteliers, and travel operators nationwide is essential,” he pointed out.

He mentioned that federation members would share their experiences from the Valley through presentations to inspire travel to the region. “We will engage with people and present what we observed here. We hope that, in a few months, Kashmir will return to its former glory as it represents the pride of India.”

Prakash firmly dismissed any suggestions to avoid traveling to Kashmir, calling such ideas “foolish”. “We are here to affirm our solidarity with Kashmir, to stand by our brothers in Kashmir, and to extend our support as much as possible. Things will improve beyond what they were,” he asserted.

To express its support, TAFI announced that its members would feature the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism logo along with the phrases “Dil Se Kashmir” and “Jannat Phir Khuli Hai” in their official email signatures. This initiative reflects their dedication to reviving tourism in one of India’s most cherished destinations.
