Rishabh Pant requests assistance from Pushkar Dhami to purchase land for his ‘first home’ in Uttarakhand; CM replies.

For Rishabh Pant, relocating to Uttarakhand signifies more than merely finding a new residence. The Indian wicketkeeper-batter has contacted Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, requesting assistance in obtaining land in his home state to move his base from Delhi and construct his first house there.

Pant made this appeal in a late-night post on X, indicating he has been searching for an appropriate plot of land in Uttarakhand for three years. He expressed a desire to return to his ‘native place’ and ‘contribute to the development of Uttarakhand.’

Pant also made it clear that he is not requesting land as a gift. Instead, he stated his intention to purchase the property from the government at the existing rates.

What did Rishabh Pant say?

In his post, Pant mentioned his love for Uttarakhand and his desire to ‘return’ to his ‘Pahadi people’. He also urged the chief minister for assistance in navigating the land acquisition process, explaining that he had been unsuccessful in locating suitable property despite his three-year search.

“I want to return to my native place to contribute and develop around Uttarakhand and I wish to come back to my Pahadi people. Please address this matter,” he wrote.

“While a gift would be wonderful for representing our states on international stages, I would like to purchase it from the Government at the official rates so I can construct my first house in my own state, and our state, please be supportive. I genuinely don’t know how to go about this,” Pant added.

What did Pushkar Singh Dhami say?

In response to Pant’s appeal, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami commended the cricketer for making Uttarakhand proud and welcomed his aspiration to return to his home state.
“Dear Rishabh, you are the pride of Uttarakhand. Your outstanding performance and achievements have brought honor to Devbhoomi both in the country and worldwide. Your affection for your motherland and your intention to return and contribute are truly commendable,” he stated on X. Dhami confirmed that the matter had been forwarded to the relevant officials, who would reach out to Pant soon. He also pledged ‘full cooperation’ in accordance with the existing regulations.

Pant is presently in Sri Lanka with the Indian team ahead of the two-Test series commencing on August 15. He also participated in India’s three-day warm-up match against SLC XI.
