MLB introduces MLBx in India, featuring Suryakumar Yadav as the main attraction at Mumbai event.
Major League Baseball (MLB) has revealed that its cutting-edge MLBx competition will debut in India later this year, with Mumbai set to host the thrilling 3-on-3 baseball event on October 24. Indian T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav will lead the event alongside former MLB All-Stars Nick Swisher and Adrián Gonzalez.

The event will occur at the Mumbai Football Arena within the Andheri Sports Complex, blending competitive baseball with interactive fan engagements and entertainment to introduce the sport to Indian audiences. Tickets are available exclusively through BookMyShow.

Developed by Major League Baseball, MLBx is a mixed 3-on-3 baseball competition focused on power hitting, dynamic fielding, and rapid gameplay. The format has previously been featured during MLB All-Star Week in Philadelphia and has made international stops in London, Seoul, and Mexico City after being held at 15 venues across the United States over the last three years.

The Mumbai edition will showcase Suryakumar Yadav as an MLB Ambassador, joined by 2009 World Series champion Nick Swisher and five-time MLB All-Star Adrian Gonzalez. MLB indicated that more participants will be revealed in the coming weeks.

This announcement represents another advancement in MLB’s mission to broaden its influence in India, following its collaboration with Suryakumar Yadav and strategic partnerships with RISE Worldwide and JioStar.

“India is one of the world’s most exciting places for large-scale events and presents a significant growth opportunity for baseball, which is why we are thrilled to bring MLBx to Mumbai for the first time,” stated Jeremiah Yolkut, MLB Senior Vice President of Global Operations and Events.

“Building on the fantastic response to our recent partnerships in India, we are eager to allow fans to experience the excitement of baseball firsthand through MLBx,” he added. MLB emphasized that the event aims to highlight the thrill and culture of baseball with live music, interactive fan activities, and ballpark cuisine featuring local flavors while enhancing the sport’s presence in one of the world’s fastest-growing sports markets. Further details and programming will be announced as the event date approaches.
