Prabhjeet Singh, the outgoing President of Uber India, is reportedly set to take on the role of Managing Director for OpenAI in India, as per sources. It is anticipated that he will report to Kiran Mani, OpenAI’s Managing Director for the Asia-Pacific region, according to the same sources.

In response to a CNBC-TV18 inquiry, OpenAI opted not to comment, stating it had “no comment for now.”

On Friday, Prabhjeet Singh announced his departure after nearly 11 years with Uber, concluding a significant leadership role in one of the company’s primary global markets.
During his tenure, Singh guided Uber’s operations in India and South Asia through substantial growth and structural changes, including the company’s extensive venture into various mobility sectors and the enhancement of its footprint in competitive urban environments.

He was appointed President of the region in 2020 and managed the strategy across India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
