Fadnavis shared the news on social media platform X, posting a photo with AirTrunk CEO Robin Khuda as they exchanged the LoI for land at the Raigad Pen Growth Centre (Orange City) for the forthcoming data center.
As per the chief minister, the project represents an investment of ₹2 lakh crore, with a planned capacity of 3 gigawatts (GW), positioning it as one of the largest data center investments in the state.

Fadnavis stated that the project, supported by Blackstone, is set to enhance Maharashtra’s digital infrastructure. He also expressed gratitude to the Consul-General of Australia, Paul Murphy, for attending the meeting.
“With Blackstone’s backing, AirTrunk’s investment is poised to power Maharashtra’s digital future!” he added.
AirTrunk specializes in constructing and operating large data centers. Established in 2015, AirTrunk launched Australia’s first large-scale hyperscale data centers in 2017 and has since expanded throughout the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions.

“If the future is in the cloud… AirTrunk is where the cloud meets the ground,” states the company’s website.
The firm handles vast amounts of digital information for cloud services, websites, apps, and businesses. It aims to build reliable, energy-efficient, water-efficient, and scalable data centers.
