Cochin Shipyard backs maritime deeptech startup Maritech to enhance digital logistics framework.

Hooghly CSL, a division of Cochin Shipyard, secures contract to construct two luxury river cruise ships for Antara.
Cochin Shipyard announced on Thursday that it has entered into an agreement to invest 5% in the Dehradun-based deeptech platform Maritech Integrated Maritime as part of its major startup initiative, USHUS.

The program aims to foster emerging technologies that can enhance India’s maritime ecosystem through strategic investments and collaborations with startups.

CSL has allocated a total of ₹50 crore under the USHUS initiative to support and invest in various startups within the maritime sector. The shipbuilder has collaborated with IIMK LIVE and IIT Madras for the program’s implementation.
This initiative aligns with the central government’s vision of encouraging innovation, entrepreneurship, indigenisation, and the expansion of technology-driven startups, according to Cochin Shipyard Ltd.

Maritech Integrated Maritime has created the Integrated Maritime Exchange (IME), a digital platform that connects maritime stakeholders and offers logistics and port-related services.

IME is poised to become a unified digital marketplace for the maritime industry, improving operational efficiency, transparency, and collaboration throughout the maritime value chain, CSL noted. The platform is set to significantly contribute to the digital transformation of maritime trade and logistics in India, it added.
