In an appearance on the RCB Podcast, Kohli expressed that he is completely committed to the 50-over format and feels no need to withdraw as long as his motivation to represent India remains strong.
“Naturally, if I’m participating, I want to keep playing cricket. Competing in a World Cup for India is an incredible experience,” Kohli stated.
At 37 years old, having participated in four ODI World Cups and being a member of India’s victorious 2011 squad, Kohli mentioned that his high standards for preparation and fitness continue to propel him in international cricket.
He, who holds the record for the highest number of ODI centuries with 54, remains an essential player in India’s one-day format. Recently, he took part in the Vijay Hazare Trophy representing Delhi, further emphasizing his commitment to ODI cricket.
The 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup is scheduled to take place in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
