Zomato’s Deepinder Goyal Launches Initial 100 ‘Temple’ Devices, Inviting First Users

Zomato's Deepinder Goyal Launches Initial 100 'Temple' Devices, Inviting First Users
Deepinder Goyal, the founder of Zomato, announced on Tuesday, May 5, that the first 100 units of his eagerly awaited wearable device, Temple, are set for shipment, encouraging users to apply for early access.

In a message posted on X, Goyal revealed that the company is inviting its inaugural cohort of “athletes, scientists, founders, doctors, creators, and individuals who are passionate about their physical and cognitive health,” referring to them as the product’s founding users.

Temple is marketed as a next-generation wearable aimed at tracking both physical and cognitive performance. As per its website, the device is placed on the temple area of the head, allowing for more accurate capture of biological signals like blood flow and skin regulation due to its thin tissue and dense vascular structures.

The company characterizes the product as a “precision instrument” meant to enhance training, recovery, work, and sleep, while providing deeper insights into human physiology compared to traditional wearables.

This latest announcement builds on Goyal’s earlier teaser from this year, in which he referred to Temple as “the most important wearable ever made” and disclosed that he had been personally testing the device for over a year.

At that time, the company hinted at launching a waitlist, with early visuals displaying a compact device situated near the temple on the forehead.

This wearable is also linked to Goyal’s “Gravity Ageing Hypothesis” research, which investigates blood flow and brain health. Temple seeks to surpass traditional wrist-based trackers by providing a more holistic, “head-to-toe” perspective on health within a singular ecosystem.

While specific details regarding specifications and pricing have not been revealed, the early access rollout signifies the initial phase towards a wider launch of the device.
