Bangladeshi Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman is in China for a three-day visit from May 5 to 7 on the invitation of his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, as reported by Chinese state media.
This marks Rahman’s inaugural trip to China since assuming office in February, coinciding with efforts from both nations to “boost political mutual trust” and further collaboration in areas such as the Belt and Road initiative.
Chinese officials have characterized Beijing and Dhaka as “friends and close neighbors,” noting that their relationship has experienced “steady and significant progress” over the years.
Beijing aims to utilize this visit to enhance cooperation with Bangladesh’s new administration and bolster the comprehensive bilateral partnership.
