According to Banerjee’s affidavit, she owns no immovable property, vehicles, or substantial investments like shares, bonds, or insurance policies.
Her declared assets are solely comprised of movable holdings amounting to ₹15,37,509.71, with no noted liabilities or criminal cases—the same status she reported during the 2021 elections, according to news agency PTI.
The affidavit shows a slight increase in her cash on hand, now at ₹75,700, up from ₹69,255. Nevertheless, her bank deposits constitute the majority of her savings, totaling over ₹12.7 lakh across her accounts.
Receivables, such as tax deductions, have seen a significant drop to approximately ₹40,600, down from more than ₹1.8 lakh reported in 2021, per PTI.

Despite the minor decrease in total assets, the value of Banerjee’s jewellery has increased.
The affidavit details 9.75 grams of gold jewellery estimated at around ₹1.45 lakh, up from roughly ₹43,800 in the last declaration, largely due to rising gold prices in recent years.
Income shows upward trend
While her asset values are modest, Banerjee’s income has risen in recent years. The affidavit reports ₹23.21 lakh as her total income for 2024–25, compared to ₹10.34 lakh in 2019–20 as previously filed.
Her earnings have typically ranged between ₹15 lakh and nearly ₹30 lakh annually, with income sources comprising royalties and interest. She describes her profession as social work and politics.
During the 2021 elections, Banerjee was noted as the poorest chief minister in India, with her declared assets hovering around ₹15 lakh, according to a report by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) mentioned by News18.

Electoral contest in Bhabanipur
Banerjee, the leader of the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC), is competing in the Assembly elections of 2026 from the Bhabanipur constituency, where she will face Suvendu Adhikari of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
In the previous 2021 election, she contested from Nandigram but lost to Adhikari. She later secured victory in a by-election from Bhabanipur.
The West Bengal Assembly elections are set to occur in two phases on April 23 and April 29, with results announced on May 4.
