Located in the South 24 Parganas district, Diamond Harbour stands as a significant Assembly seat and TMC bastion in West Bengal. This semi-urban area is included in the Diamond Harbour Lok Sabha constituency, currently held by Abhishek Banerjee, a key TMC figure and nephew of Mamata Banerjee.

With the West Bengal Assembly elections set for 2026, the initial phase is on April 23, followed by the second phase on April 29.
