Western Railway Unveils Inaugural Digital Lounge and Co-Working Area at Mumbai Central Station for Business Travelers and Remote Employees
Western Railway has launched its inaugural digital lounge and co-working space, which became available earlier this week at Mumbai Central railway station, according to officials on December 18. The lounge covers 1,712 square feet and will offer comfortable seating, modular workstations, dedicated conference and meeting rooms, as well as video conferencing spaces for railway passengers, PTI reported.

“The digital lounge is designed to serve business travelers, professionals, and remote workers, fulfilling the evolving needs of today’s passengers,” stated Vineet Abhishek, chief public relations officer of Western Railway.

Situated in the main line concourse of Mumbai Central station, the digital lounge is projected to generate approximately 3.2 crore in revenue over five years, enhancing non-fare revenue initiatives.
Officials from Western Railway mentioned that the digital lounge is managed by Ten 11 Hospitality LLP under its premium brand INEJ Lounge, providing professional hospitality services within the railway ecosystem.
In an interview with PTI, Anurag Gill of Ten 11 Hospitality indicated that there are plans to establish similar digital lounges at major railway stations on the Western Railway, along with exploring the feasibility of more such facilities at select suburban railway stations.

According to railway officials, the digital lounge is outfitted with modern conveniences, including high-speed Wi-Fi, multiple charging points, comfortable seating arrangements, modular workstations, dedicated conference and meeting rooms, flexible video-conferencing spaces, self-service light refreshments, and non-alcoholic beverages, along with upgraded toilet and washroom facilities.

This facility is designed to offer a convenient and functional workspace for passengers in need of basic office amenities, meeting spaces, or a quiet work environment while traveling.

To access the digital lounge, passengers will incur an entry fee of 200 for the first hour and an additional 150 for the following hour.

By paying extra fees, passengers can enjoy vegetarian meals and shower facilities. The company has introduced value packs for lounge entry, along with meal and shower services.

At Mumbai Central station, railway authorities have already implemented facilities such as PODs for budget stays and a regular AC lounge available for a nominal fee of 10, where passengers can charge their mobiles or purchase refreshments.
