This moderate rise is part of the UK government’s initiative to develop a more “streamlined, digital immigration system”.
Officials indicate that the elevated fees will help sustain a secure and efficient visa application process.
The mission has clarified that there is no limit on applications, and the majority of visas will still be processed within three weeks, providing some reassurance despite the fee increases.
| Updated UK Visa Fees | |||
| S.No. | Visa Category | Previous Fee | Revised Fee |
| 1 | Visit Visa (Up to 6 months) | £127 | £135 |
| 2 | Visit Visa (Up to 2 years) | £475 | £506 |
| 3 | Visit Visa (Up to 5 years) | £848 | £903 |
| 4 | Visit Visa (Up to 10 years) | £1059 | £1128 |
| 5 | Study Visa | £524 | £558 |
| 6 | Work Visa (Skilled workers, 3 years or less) | £769 | £819 |
For travelers, this means higher initial costs.
A typical six-month visitor visa will now cost £135, increased from £127. Longer-term visitor visas, often favored by frequent travelers and families, will also see price hikes, with the 10-year visa now priced at £1128.
Students, a significant applicant group from India, will now pay £558 for a study visa, up from £524.
Additionally, skilled professionals applying for work visas (up to three years) will see fee increases to £819 from £769.
While these fee hikes may not seem significant individually, they contribute to the overall cost of relocating or traveling abroad—particularly when combined with living expenses, tuition fees, or relocation costs. This may lead to tighter budgeting or reevaluation of timelines for students and families.
The UK government asserts that these adjustments are essential for improving service delivery and meeting the growing global demand.
Applicants are encouraged to review updated guidelines and the complete fee schedule on the government website before submitting their applications.
