The Trump administration has advocated for a unified legislative framework to be uniformly applied nationwide, rather than allowing individual states to create their own plans.
In December, US President Donald Trump stated that he would withhold federal broadband funding from states whose regulations on artificial intelligence his administration believes hinder American leadership in the technology.

”The administration looks forward to collaborating with Congress in the upcoming months to convert this framework into legislation that the president can endorse,” the White House commented in a statement.
The framework urges Congress to simplify permitting processes, allowing electricity-intensive data centers to produce their own power on site. It also seeks to enhance the federal government’s capacity to combat AI-generated fraud and address national security issues.
The initiative aims to eliminate obstacles to innovation, speed up AI implementation across various business sectors, and facilitate the development of high-quality AI systems.
Child protection measures include providing parents with controls over accounts and devices to safeguard their children’s privacy and promoting features to prevent potential sexual exploitation or self-harm.
