Texmaco Rail Collaborates with Belgian Company to Investigate Kavach Train Safety System for India
Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Signalling Company NV (TSC) from Belgium to explore strategic cooperation on European Train Control System (ETCS) solutions, including the potential development of Kavach tailored for the Indian market.

The MoU was executed on August 10, 2026, as per a regulatory filing by the firm.

Through this agreement, both companies aim to establish a strategic partnership concerning ETCS solutions. This scope encompasses, but is not limited to, the anticipated development of Kavach for India.

The parties will negotiate to finalize a definitive agreement for this proposed partnership. Texmaco indicated that commercial terms would be established in the definitive agreement.

The MoU signifies the mutual intent of both parties to investigate this collaboration but does not detail the scale or commercial worth of the proposed agreement. The definitive arrangement will also require mutual negotiations and necessary approvals from both sides’ managements.

Texmaco clarified that TSC is not affiliated with its promoter, promoter group, or associated companies. This transaction is not categorized as a related-party transaction, according to the filing.

The company confirmed it does not possess any equity in TSC as part of this arrangement.

Texmaco Rail Q1 Results

The company reported a mixed set of earnings for the June quarter on Monday, showing a year-on-year revenue decline but a significant profit increase, reflecting improved operational efficiency despite reduced top-line figures.

Net profit surged by 67% to ₹50 crore, compared to ₹30 crore in the same quarter last year.

However, revenue fell by 17% to ₹757 crore from ₹911 crore, while EBITDA decreased by 19.6% to ₹57 crore. The operating margin remained relatively stable at 8%, suggesting that profitability was preserved despite lower sales.

Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd. shares closed at ₹107.20 on Monday, August 10, down 1.45% from the previous close.
