Through this partnership, ASML will assist in setting up and scaling Tata Electronics’ upcoming 300 mm (12-inch) semiconductor fabrication facility in Dholera, Gujarat.
The collaboration will emphasize deploying ASML’s lithography tools and associated solutions for the Dholera Fab, designed to support operations at India’s first commercial 300 mm semiconductor fabrication facility.

This partnership will also encompass local talent development, skill-building initiatives focused on lithography, supply chain projects, and research infrastructure to ensure the fab’s long-term viability.
The companies noted that this collaboration arrives amidst growing strategic ties between India and the Netherlands in critical technologies, particularly semiconductor technology.

Tata Electronics is in the process of developing India’s first 300 mm commercial Fab in Dholera, Gujarat. With a total investment of $11 billion planned, the facility will produce semiconductors for various applications in automotive, mobile devices, artificial intelligence (AI), and other critical segments, aiming to serve customers worldwide.

Tata Electronics has strategically aligned with key global customers and ecosystem partners, beginning with PSMC (Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation, Taiwan), thus gaining access to a diverse technology portfolio that includes 28nm, 40nm, 55nm, 90nm, and 110nm.
The construction of the plant is progressing quickly. The collaboration with ASML is pivotal for Tata Electronics on its mission to foster partnerships throughout the entire semiconductor ecosystem, involving equipment, process and design technology, and materials.
