‘Steadfast backing for Bharat’: Baloch leader communicates with S Jaishankar
A Baloch leader and human rights activist has addressed a warning to India’s External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, concerning the potential deployment of Chinese military forces in the Balochistan region.

In an open letter shared on X, Mir Yar Baloch has raised alarms regarding the growing strategic partnership between Islamabad and Beijing, particularly as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) approaches completion.

He expressed unease that Chinese troops in Balochistan, without local approval, would represent an ‘unimaginable threat’ and ‘challenge’ to the futures of both India and Balochistan, urging India to enhance collaboration between “our two great nations”.
“The Republic of Balochistan considers the increasing strategic alliance between Pakistan and China to be extremely hazardous. We caution that China, in partnership with Pakistan, has progressed the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to its concluding phases. If Balochistan’s defense and freedom forces are not further empowered, and if they remain disregarded as per enduring traditions, it is plausible that China could introduce its military forces to Balochistan within months,” he articulated.

In his New Year message, he praised India’s initiatives against Pakistan-backed terrorism, particularly Operation Sindoor, which targeted terrorist strongholds in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.

“These actions reflect remarkable bravery and a firm commitment to regional security and justice,” he asserted.

Baloch also reiterated his support for India, stating that the people of Balochistan stand with Bharat in promoting friendship, trust, and shared interests.

“On behalf of the people of Balochistan, we express our unwavering support to Bharat and its government in fostering friendship, trust, and mutual interests encompassing peace, prosperity, development, trade, defense, security, future energy challenges, and the mitigation of hidden threats. It is imperative to embrace concrete, reciprocal cooperation. The threats facing Bharat and Balochistan are real and imminent; thus, our bilateral relations must be equally substantial and actionable,” Baloch stated.

In his letter, Baloch conveyed greetings to the people of India, emphasizing the historical and cultural connections between Balochistan and Bharat.

“On behalf of the six crore patriotic citizens of the Republic of Balochistan, we extend our warmest wishes for the New Year 2026 to the one hundred and forty crore citizens of Bharat, both Houses of Parliament, the media, civil society, and all distinguished individuals. This auspicious occasion allows us to reflect upon and celebrate the profound historical, cultural, commercial, economic, diplomatic, defense, and multifaceted relationships that have united Bharat and Balochistan for centuries,” he mentioned.

He also declared that the Republic of Balochistan would host the “2026 Balochistan Global Diplomatic Week” in the first week of 2026, aiming to connect directly with nations worldwide.

India has consistently opposed CPEC, citing concerns over sovereignty and security. Both China and Pakistan have denied the allegations of military expansion under CPEC, asserting that the project is fundamentally economic.
