This over-the-air rollout introduces a range of exciting features designed to elevate personal listening and home entertainment experiences — including dual TV audio streaming, adaptive noise cancellation, and spatial sound calibration.
Introduced in 2024 as Sonos’ first foray into the headphone market, the Sonos Ace quickly gained a reputation for its high-quality build and impressive audio performance.
Here are the new features arriving for the headphones:
Watch TV Together, Silently
The Sonos Ace previously included the TV Audio Swap feature that allowed users to enjoy sound from their soundbars through the Ace headphones. The upcoming update will enable two Sonos Ace users to stream audio simultaneously from Arc soundbars with the new Personal Home Theater for Two feature.
Smarter Spatial Audio
Thanks to the TrueCinema feature, the Sonos Ace can now adjust spatial audio based on the user’s room configuration. This results in a virtual surround sound experience that replicates a comprehensive home theater setup — all with just one pair of headphones. It’s like experiencing Dolby Atmos but in your ears.
Adaptive Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Enhanced Call Quality
Sonos is also implementing real-time ANC, which it claims can adapt to sound leaks caused by glasses, hair, or headwear.
Whether you are commuting, working, or relaxing, this real-time feature is designed to minimize distractions.
Voice calls will also see improvements. The new SideTone feature allows users to hear their own voice more naturally during calls, which often sound muffled with ANC activated. The outcome is a more balanced and enjoyable calling experience.
The software update will be rolled out to all Sonos Ace users worldwide starting June 10, 2025.
Currently priced at ₹39,999, the headphones compete with the Apple AirPods Max, Sony WH-1000XM5, Bose QuietComfort Ultra, Sennheiser Momentum 4, and more.
