A key highlight of the visit will be the opening of the Locomotive Manufacturing Shop at the Rolling Stock Workshop in Dahod. Developed by the Ministry of Railways with an investment of ₹21,405 crore, this facility is a major milestone in India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. The Prime Minister will dedicate the first indigenously manufactured 9000 HP locomotive engine to the country.
Additionally, infrastructure projects totaling ₹2,287 crore related to railway travel will also be announced. These projects include the doubling of the Anand-Godhra, Mehsana-Palanpur, and Rajkot-Hadmatiya railway lines, the 107 km electrification of the Sabarmati-Botad line, and the gauge conversion of the Kalol-Kadi-Katosan section. Consequently, the total railway-related investment declared during the visit will reach ₹23,692 crore.

The new unit in Dahod is anticipated to generate employment for nearly 10,000 individuals and strengthen the local economy. The powerful locomotive being launched can transport up to 4,600 tonnes of cargo, with a goal of producing 1,200 engines over the next ten years.
In addition to transport infrastructure, the Prime Minister will inaugurate four group water supply projects — Juth Sudharna Pani Purvatha Yojanas—valued at ₹181 crore, aimed at supplying safe drinking water to rural communities in Mahisagar and Dahod districts.

“These initiatives will benefit 193 villages and one town, ensuring clean drinking water at a rate of 100 litres per capita per day (LPCD) for a population of 4.62 lakh,” the government release noted.
Among these projects is the Namnar Sudharna Juth Pani Purvatha Yojana, constructed at a cost of ₹49 crore, which will serve 39 villages in Mahisagar district, helping 1.01 lakh residents.
The Kheroli Juth Sudharna Pani Purvatha Yojana, with a budget of ₹70 crore, is designed to provide drinking water to 51 villages—including 49 in Virpur and three in Lunawada talukas—benefiting a population of 1.16 lakh. The Charangam Juth Sudharna Pani Purvatha Yojana, with an investment of ₹33 crore, will assist 44 villages in Lunawada taluka, reaching over 83,000 people.
Furthermore, the Gothib Sudharna Juth Pani Purvatha Yojana, constructed at ₹29 crore, will supply clean water to 58 villages in Santrampur and Fatepura talukas, including previously unconnected areas, providing access to approximately 1.46 lakh individuals.
“Through these four water supply schemes, clean drinking water will be accessible to 193 villages and one town, incorporating 37 villages of Balasinor taluka, 50 of Virpur taluka, 48 of Lunawada taluka, and 58 of Santrampur and Fatepura talukas,” the release added.
